Petre Otkheli (1907-1937)
was a modernist theater artist of the early twentieth century known for his
contemporary and constructivist vision. You can't determine where reality ends
and fantasy begins when you look at his work. Both "superheroes" and
Greek statues in a modernist style can be found in the sketches. Petre Otskheli
was a forward-thinking artist. His vision and approach are as relevant today as
they were a century ago. The Soviet authority punished the young artist for his
creativity by executing him without trial in 1937, when he was 29 years old.
Petre Otskheli's art is still around today.
