Historically, men have always dominated this field. Elene Akhlediani
(1898-1975) demonstrated to Georgia and Europe in the twentieth century that
women may play important roles in the arts. While going around the old part of
Tbilisi, you will remember the landscapes painted in a modern style by Elene.
